ABOUT THIS WATCH:

MANUFACTURER: Omega

MODEL: Constellation

REFERENCE: 2652

SERIAL: 139xxxxx

YEAR: 1952

CASE: The 35mm gold capped over steel case is in fair shape. The case has seen some polishing during its lifetime. All 8 stars and observatory are present on the screw down caseback; however some of the definition has been lost due to past polishing. The crystal has been replaced some time in the past. The case is completed by the correct modern service replacement thick decagonal crown.

DIAL: This example features a two tone dial with crosshair. There is some scratching on the dial that can be seen in the lower left quarter. This is a non luminous dial with matching non-luminous dauphine hands. The dial features the most highly desired and sought after hour marker configuration: arrow heads. Finally the dial shows some spotting and patina throughout having turned into a champagne color that matches the case.

MOVEMENT: Omega automatic bumper caliber 354. The watch was opened by a watchmaker and was regulated and had a timing adjustment. A full service was not completed but the watch winds, sets, runs and keeps good time.

BRACELET: Comes on the pictured, new, TUNS leather strap complete with quick release spring bars.

ACCESSORIES: None.

BOX/PAPERS: No.

WARRANTY: None.

BANK WIRE/ZELLE PRICE: $1,100 shipped.

I wasn't aware that some early Connies didn't wear the name "Constellation" on the dial.
The watch is not technically a Constellation. It is a Globemaster, made only for the US market. In 1952, when the Constellation was introduced, there was a trademark dispute over the name. Norman Morris, the US importer for Omega at that time, had the watch made without a name on the dial to be flexible in case of a settlement.

This model has the same case and movements as the Constellation sold everywhere outside the US. Only the dial was modified.

Very nice watch, and good luck with the sale.

Thanks for the info @gatorcpa ! Fact is I had read this already, but I hadn't thought of the Globemaster when I saw this watch. 👍
