    Hi,
I came across a omega constellation 1961 and after checking all numbers and cal. everything was matching but the stars on the observatory logo are well faded actually I can only see 3/4 of them.
The question that I have is if this will take much value from the watch even if the rest is in good condition.

    Thank you

    Hi!
    Welcome here on OF!

If the rest is OK (you could post pictures here of course to be shure), the price is OK and you don't mind the missing stars - Go for it!

I think if some stars are polished away it is not unlikely, that the case has also been polished.

    Thank you for your answer.
The only photos that I took are from the mechanism and back case to check the numbers, they are not great but I will post them.

How much is the asking price?

Or do you already own it?

    Yes.

How much value is between you and the seller.

Pretty shure this is a redial...

Crown is wrong, second hand is too long IMO

There is a really nice arrowhead constellation that looks amazing to me but it's only flaw is the stars, and it seems to be bidding for around a grand less than it could if it was perfect, so yes it will effect the price, possibly more than you might think.

This looks like a very worn down example. I would not pay anywhere close to €900 for this.

I think the dial could be original, but am in agreement that the hands look funny and the crown is a replacement.

After this I took a second look at it:

First thing that made me doubt was the upper part of the "Automatic" A which seemed quite narrow to me (zoom in!)

After comparing with this '61 from OF I tend to confirm your statement, look how similar the cross hair is touching the Constellation "E"

Also the Automatic M is touched by the cross hair the same way.

Seems me having been too fast, sorry!

Just saw this thread. I don't think I've ever come across a convincing two-liner Constellation dial so wouldn't suspect this one - I assume it has been cleaned at some point though (or the lighting is really weird in that photo) and the hands look off.
