I'm sort of freaking out because I didn't think my offer for this watch would be accepted.

So, in the meantime, I finalized a Nomos GMT from another forum.

Now I am utterly confused as to what to do. Would this be a good deal for $750? Does the seller seem legit? From what I've observed on the listing, it looks pretty good, and the movement seems clean, though it is a 561.

    Nice looking watch.

Engraving in the back, no known service history, so better keep a maintainance into account.

You made a best offer and it was accepted, so what are your options other than paying up?

I have 72 hours to pay but if I don't. I'm not sure what happens.

Well, you've entered into a binding contract.

Unless the watch has been misrepresented you are under a legal obligation to pay.

If you don't pay, the watch gods will frown upon you, and I'm sure the seller will take action through eBay.

I'm not sure which will be worse.

Well, if you've made and offer and had that offer accepted, you've essentially bought the watch. Although I'm not sure if you're able to give a non-paying buyer bad feedback anymore or ban you as an eBay user, it's generally considered pretty poor form to then not follow through with payment.

At that price I think it's a good deal anyway. Good condition and, although I believe the crown is a replacement, it's hard to find the fully hidden crowns now.

Watch Conditon? [emoji818]️ (sort of; engraving + brickwork on observatory detracts value from watch)

    Seller? Not sure, since Uruguay.

Also, does it seem real/fake? If it is fake, I may have a recourse to cancel the payment, otherwise Christmas came early for me and I am now the owner of a GMT Nomos and a Recessed Crown Omega.

May I know why did you make an offer when you weren't sure about the watch and you thought the offer was not going to be accepted?

It's not like those 72 hours are there for you to review your options and if you choose to let that expire you're absolved.

Frankly, you should have made the investigation before sending that offer. The seller makes a decent effort in describing the watch and the pics are good and you were invited to send questions before buying.

Now the offer is accepted and suddenly you are, and I quote, "utterly confused as to what to do". Let me help you out here: Pay up.

And from what I can tell, you got yourself a nice watch for that money..

    Thanks all for your opinions.

I realize the severity of the mistake I made and plan on never making it in the future.

I wanted to apologize if anyone was offended and understand if this gets me kicked off the forum.

    Best,
    Jaydeep

And yes I am paying for the watch.

Pay for the watch! It's not me selling it, but reading this pisses me right off.

Yeah relax I am sure no one is going to kick you out because of this :)

It is just that we try our best to advocate good buying/selling practices.

Nothing looks obviously wrong with the watch, but I have very very little knowledge of this ref, so don't take my word for it.

Recently a nice Speedmaster came up on eBay at a good price. I spent FIVE MINUTES doing some due diligence and when I came back to buy it, it was sold. Sometimes you just gotta jump on it.

Love your user name by the way.

looks like a great hidden crown Constellation -and at a good price
the engraving is what it is -but not sure why you might think that the brickwork observatory would detract from the watch?
seal the deal and enjoy your watch when it arrives

I thought that the brickwork observatory meant that it was not an original caseback for the watch.

I paid the guy, just crossing my fingers and hoping it doesn't turn out to be a fake. Especially considering that this seller explicitly states that he makes no guarantees with regards to authenticity.

I think you should start reading this before you make your next purchase.

Probably the best Constellation resource on the planet (Thankyou Desmond).
