This is a Constellation I wasn't planning on selling, but with a potential grail purchase coming up, I'm freeing up funds. I've listed a lovely full set Speedmaster from '87 yesterday too, whichever sells first, sells. The other probably stays.

For sale is an incredibly nice condition Omega Constellation 14393 in 18K yellow gold, dating back to 1963. This watch has very rarely been worn, it shows strong lines, lovely purplish tarnish only very minor wear marks throughout. I like to believe this has been some Japanese' special occasion watch. It comes as an absolutely full set with everything one could possibly think of. I have bought this off a Japanese auction some years back based on very poor pictures, and literally fell head over heels for this piece when I unpacked it.

Please find an assessment of the watch below. I have attempted to be as brutally honest as can be. Note that I am not the first owner of this watch. Hence I cannot guarantee originality of parts, but with many years of vintage Omega experience, I like to think I know what I'm looking at. Additionally, this watch came to me in a very untouched condition, up to and including papers of two other watches that makes me believe the seller wasn't very knowledgeable on these and certainly didn't prep this piece for sale (auction).

Dial: The original dial with a subtle brushing. The printing is perfectly okay. A highlight of this watch.

Hands: Original hand set.

Case: Sharp. This is what this watch must have looked like when it came from the factory, bar the light tarnish, that is. It looks unmolested and only shows some light signs of wear. Some hairline scratches but overall in very good condition. Caseback is in perfect order and even the observatory logo is very sharp. As some other older 18K YG cases do, this one is imho very nicely tarnished. It's easy to polish this away, but I really couldn't bring myself to doing so as I love the honest, purplish and warm glow it has like this.

Movement and Serial: A trusty automatic Calibre 561 which is running well. Date changes properly too. Serial (186xxxxx) of course matches the papers. Note there is no known service history and in the past few years I have not serviced it either. For daily use, I am sure it could benefit of one.

Crown: Original. Colour matches and the flat foot logo testifies to it being made at the same time the watch was.

Strap: None. It does come with the matching GP Omega-signed buckle, but the strap pictured was custom made for me and will stay with me.

Package: Full set. That is, box, papers, filled out warranty card (dated to June 19th, 1963 in Hong Kong) and the hang tag bearing the correct serial number. The chronometer certificate and even the corresponding enveloppe bearing the serial come with this piece. The box has some signs of wear but is still presentable and comes complete with the inserts. The hinges still work fine.

Shipped worldwide at buyers expense, although I would strongly prefer a F2F deal in the Netherlands given the value of this piece and the added benefit of meeting a fellow OF-member in person.

No returns, please ask questions and extra pictures in advance. I am not making a habit out of selling, but I do have quite some - exclusively positive - references as a seller and buyer on this forum and could share more.

Reference contacts and LinkedIn profile available upon request.

I am not pricing this one cheap. Even though the reference in its own right isn't too terribly difficult to find, the condition of this piece makes it pretty much irreplaceable. I don't even know whether I am willing to sacrifice it for real...

Price: EUR 5450 (net to me, excluding shipping)

On to the pictures…
