Please show inside of case back.

Is there a hallmark anywhere on the case?

Do you have any paperwork?

Al,

I think you did not read an important part in the OP´s first description.

He stated that the "back plate" is missing.

CD is the material code for 14k yellow gold capped. BA and BB are the codes for 18k pale yellow and yellow gold respectively.

This watch should have hallmarks on the underside of the lugs to indicate solid gold...

I have long been under the impression that Omega no longer produces watches in cases that are plated. Or PVD or CVD, for that matter. Of course, I have been known to occasionally be wrong. The subject watch appears to have a separate snap fit bezel, so no doubt, the case back would have been a snap fit as well. The inside of the case has been milled inside the lugs, which is often done on karat gold cases to save weight. I wouldn't be surprised if the case is karat gold! Especially considering it weighs more than one ounce Troy, without the case back!

Best bet is to get it tested. Without hallmarks you are just guessing...

In your photos, it appears there are rectangular hallmarks stamped into the inside surfaces of the lugs (vice the back surface which is more common). This looks like solid gold.
