Dear members - need your help!

A local jeweler offers the Omega-chrono shown below,
    want to catch it.
    The reference is: 2451 174-1
    Cal 321
    Movement number: 10. 8xx.xxx

I am not familiar with the Omegas of this decade.
Is anything fishy with the dial, hands or case?
The hands are white and the lume shows some
patina. The lume of the numbers looks flawless.

His price is. 3.400.- USD - is this a fair price?

Would appreciate any input - thanks!
    Horst

At the very least the case is over polished and I'm pretty sure the dial is refinished.

Here is one that belongs to Mike, MSNwatch.

The dial has been refinished...not a bad job. Dial may well have originally been black as these pieces came in silver, ivory and black, but the Omega symbol is the modern interpretation and the printing could be sharper on the chapter ring. While some models of the period did have these Alpha-type hands, I suspect that in this iteration they are not original to the watch.

Sharp edges on the case have been obliterated and you haven't been able to post pictures of the movement, so it's hard to comment fully, save to say that if you are really set on a 2451 perhaps it's worth your consideration to amass further funds and wait until a sharper and more factory-original example surfaces.

    Cheers
