Got this for what I thought was fair price. The watch runs, the crystal is supposed to be original with the Omega logo in the middle. I like the dial with the Tribune Tower, it makes it unique IMO. The watch obviously needs some work as it is missing the crown and stem. Hopefully the crystal polishes up and that there are no cracks. The pictures below are the seller's and I hope to get better ones when I receive the watch!

Interesting piece. 馃榾

just so you know, the building was put on by a local jeweler not Omega.

Serial checks to 1965 production.

I worked in that building for nine years! I once bought a very similar one. I can't find any of my own pics but I found the listing from when I bought it in 2011: https://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=5860564&rid=0

I don't recall what I did with it, only that I no longer have it. As you can see your guy hit his 30 years 10 years earlier than my guy but they used the same engraving and same dial - well pretty much the same. They used a date model by the 70s.

I've seen enough of these Tribune watches over the years that I suspect these dials were done for them through Norman Morris. Omega was at one time one of the largest producers of dedication watches.

Going condo isn't always a bad thing though! The plans for it actually look pretty cool to my eye and it should remain one of the crown jewels of Michigan Ave.

Used to work in the Wrigley Building. Best thing that happened to it was getting sold, since the new owners are showing it more love. It remains the coolest place I've ever worked. Prolly the same for the Tribune Tower. Its still sad that its no longer Tribune HQ.
