    Hi everyone,
after several happy years with a modern Speedmaster 3570 I decided go vintage and hunt for a pre-moon Speedy.
My question being, what kind of accuracy should I expect from a 321 movement ?
Considering the sky rocketing prices of the 105.003 or 105.012 I don't want to spend a quite large chunk of money for a watch with a +15s/day accuracy, I also use my watch to keep time :)
My 3570's cal.1861 was really accurate, +/- 1s/day, and right now I'm wearing a simple Marathon SAR with a ETA 2824 losing less than 10s/month so I took some really bad habits with watches accuracy.
Advices or recommendations from Cal. 321's owners are welcome !
    Thanks,

    Philippe

Duo to the high orbital speeds the 321’s are set to run a bit faster then terrestrial watches.

321’s and 861’s should behave the same accuracy wise. Depends on condition, the watch, the skill of the last watchmaker to service it.

My '67 145.012 is just about immeasurable accurate. Serviced and adjusted at STS. The others have, depending on wrist time somewhere around..don't now, +/-5 seconds?

Ok, so a 321 can be as accurate as a modern movement, that's good news.
I was expecting that to be honest but after few days hunting for a watch on the net and seeing most of the time in the listing "watch keeps good accuracy +10s/day" I started to wonder.
I wasn't aware of the setup for orbital speeds, nice !

Don't worry about +/- 10 seconds..how much is that in percent over a year? 0,0000087% inaccurate? Enjoy the 321 Speedy that went through decades and will most likely be worn by someone long after you died. Time Capsule.

Condition will have a very large impact on how well the watch runs - that and the watchmaker...and the size of your bank account.

    Cheers, Al

I was joking.. although there is some time dilation in orbit and that’s a lower speed then moon transit.

Yes, the guys at STS, they know their job apparently, I keep hearing good things about them.

    I know, I should buy a quartz :D
Yes I'm going to enjoy it, as soon as I can find a good one not costing me a kidney !
