·I'm new to the forum and although I'm a competent engineer I'm relatively new to vintage watches, so please go easy on me. This hobby is purely to satisfy my inquisitive mind and also learn a new craft. So far I'm truly astonished by Omega craftsmanship.
I have bought a neglected 1947 'bumper' with 351 movement and 2582-1 stainless case. It ran (but only for short periods) and is now dismantled for cleaning. The later and cracked crystal was a poor fit and all but fell out and I would like to source the best quality replacement I can. I'm assuming that a NOS genuine one would be hard to find now, but would appreciate any guidance on what the Omega part number is and also some pointers in the right direction on the best sources.
The I.D. on the bezel is 28.98mm and the crystal will need quite a high dome on it to clear the curved dial and hands.
