Omega Bullhead 146.011 - Just arrived! Help with info!

Just bought a Panerai (modern) but found, and caught, this "bull" just recently. Now I'm eagerly waiting for delivery. In the meantime I would like to read some more about this watch. Anyone who can post some useful links? Looked at Madox of course. Also checked the serial number (very close to one reported stolen on this site, but not the same). Also searched Waatchuseek (and this forum).

Thx

Congrats on that purchase. I am a big fan of these quirky bullhead watches. I own a Seiko Bullhead and that is a great watch. I love the Omega Bullhead as well but unfortunately I do not own one. And I also tend to feel they are too expensive to be honest. But nonetheless it is a great watch that is not getting the attention it should deserve. Not a lot is written about these watches actually but Woundforlife wrote a small article about it.

FYI the OEM Omega straps for the modern bullhead do work well although expensive....looks like yours could be upgraded😀
Nice watch! I used to have the Lemania version

there are (or used to be....) several around the forum. Same as the 930 movement used in the DeVille Chronometer 146.017 but you may know that already!😉

I picked mine up in around 2007, IIRC from a seller in Dusseldorf and it has service papers from Omega. I must say I'd never noticed that there are dial differences, @Fatcat do you have more info on that?

A very cool watch on the wrist, right up there with all the best large and colourful 70's models. These were marketed as a driver's chronograph, to be worn tilted on the side of the wrist, unpopular in the day and as such I don't think all that many were produced, hence the collectability now. A few years ago these vintage versions were really hot....and of course Omega got a sniff of that and re-released it at about the same price as the vintage was then trading at...that seemed to put the brakes on the 146.011 somewhat.

I should wear mine more as I love it when I've got it on.

Hi like that , check the Oméga advert when they start to sale , and for any reason they was after dials with the 12th splitted , also the last dial that Oméga sold where like that ( but not service dial) , a single 12th clock marker is the proof , all the others later ( but original of course) check chrono 24 95% are splitted .

Hi Paul,
I checked all the pictures on C24 and they all have a single marker at 12. Do you have a picture?

Sorry my mistake

no lume and the prof from Oméga
Excellent and fun to learn a lot of new stuff! Nice to see other bullheads as well. I have seen a seller ("seller" - you have to take such a reference with a grain of salt...) on WatchUSeek claiming that 400 where made with "no split 12" and 200 made as the dial on my watch. Who knows? Maybe it's possible to write the Omega museum and ask?

I will for sure dig some more and let you all know if I find some new knowledge.

Have a nice weekend!

My spontaneous auction buy arrived! My slight worries that it might to bulky was unneccesary. Strap is a stiff low quality piece which is to wide on the watch end. A better strap (racing?) will make it both cooler & prettier. By the way. Look at the structure of the dial!

Anyone with more knowledge about this referens? I would gladly learn more. I’m especially interested in dial variations. An old ad for the watch shows a divided 12a clock tritium. My has a whole line underneath the 12 and above the sub register. I can see exactly the same on the watch in the Omega Museum. Someone claimed that this was service dials. But I have had to believe that such a big part of the watches has had their dial changed during service. Remember that this was a relatively cheap watch at the time and itwas mostly local watchmakers performing an eventual service. But any opinions welcomed.

Your watch is very nice and the dial is ok. These dials came in different shades. Some are brighter and I would say golden, while your is darker like copper.

I always found them very fun but never dared to buy one. I think there're a little to big and too special for me!
But very nice catch and congrats!

Bonjour

Cristal 5141 36,6 mm
Bonne journée
