Gift set from the 2000s
You think so? The W. Germany marking makes me think it's at most from the early 1990s.
I went and purchased it. It looks like a nice set to my very inexperienced eyes, but that's not saying much. Even if it turns out to be a fake of sorts, I'll probably recover financially 😁
The cap is signed with the Omega logo at the top of the cap, and with the logo and text in the ring. What's interesting is that both the nib and ballpoint cartridge are signed Omega and West Germany.
The fountain pen barrel has a hairline crack and is detached from the middle section. Found myself a side quest to repair it.
West Germany could be: Montblanc, Pelikan, Lamy, plus a few others. At the time there were plenty of pen manufacturers out of West Germany though, so its tough to tell.I discounted Lamy after not seeing the 'pin' holes that their converters typically use for retention, but perhaps?West Germanycould be: Montblanc, Pelikan, Lamy, plus a few others. Which has a VERY similar looking nib. Given the off-centerness of the slit cut, plus the general format, I'm guessing it is one of the small-W-German manufacturers, which are almost definitely going to use Int'l Std. BUT, we will see 😀
Int'l Standard it was! Excuse my first grade calligraphy, but I hardly need to write anymore.
