I'm a new Omega watch owner. I just bought a Seamaster Diver 300m with a 41mm case. I'm not wild about the bracelet ( 1515/816 ) that came with it. I really like the Omega #1171 bracelet. They're both 20mm bracelets and the 1171 should fit. Does anyone know for sure it will?
Thanks...There's no doubt that's a great looking bracelet, I've just read several mixed reviews. Do you have an opinion about the ofrei.com site? The man who serviced another watch I have, recommended 'em.
Please be aware that there is a difference between the original 1171 bracelet and the modern re-issue 1171/1 (which seems to be a bit "rattly"), Ofrei only sells the modern one afaik.
This is a photo of my new Seamaster and unfortunately, one of the owners of ofrei.com told me he doubts the 1171 will fit my watch. In fact, he said he doubts any metal bracelet, he sells, will fit my watch. I realize he's the expert and I'm not, but I find that hard to believe. Does anyone wear the mesh bracelet # 1380/237? I can't see why that wouldn't fit and I'm starting to think it's not too shabby.
It is the height of the endlinks needed for your SM300 that will cause issue not just the lug width...
If you don't mind a gap between the case and end of the bracelet there are a lot of bracelets you can use. If you want a snug fit like in your picture than George / Kringkily is correct.
See this is why I like Speedmasters so much, want to fit a 1039 to a brand new 3570.50? not a problem, 40+ years of parts compatibility.
In case the 1171 won't fit, I'm really liking the 20mm mesh # 1380/237. This bracelet measures 5.78" and with the distance of the case between spring bars, the measurement should be around 7.78". If that's correct and my wrist measures 71/4", I shouldn't need the extension, should I?
Those are the photos of my new bracelet ( 1171 w/ 633 end pieces ). Some people ( nobody here ) told me it wouldn't fit, but my watchmaker ( Jeff Herman w/ watchrepair.net ) did a hell of a job altering it, to make it fit. I love it! Looks like an entirely new watch.
