Has anyone tried to fit the classic 1171 bracelet to a new watch?

I have a Seamaster GMT 2534.50, 20mm at the lugs, and I'm having trouble finding a 1610.930 bracelet at the right price.

Since the 1171 has the look I like, I'd like to see if anyone has adapted the 1171 to a 'modern' watch.

OFrei suggest that the 633 end-pieces fit 85% - 90% of the 20mm Omegas, but I'd like to see if anyone has actually tried this before I spend the money.

    Incidentally, I haven't worn my Rolex GMT-Master II since I bought the Omega GMT . . .

There's no reason why it shouldn't fit a modern Seamaster, but the GMT is thicker slightly. That said, the 633 endlinks are extremely easy to bend and modify to fit

Have you considered going for a mesh bracelet?

I like the look of the mesh, but I prefer curved end-pieces . . .

Additional question: Is 1594/898 just a 1610/930 but with a slider clasp?
