I was wondering that as well. I would consider it but maybe in a different color.

Eh, just seems like a gimmick. The regular NATOs are more than strong enough as it is so I don't really see the point unless you have some fascination with spiders. Even then, it's synthetic silk, not biological, so I just don't get the appeal.

Yeah, it would be helpful to actually feel the material. Interesting color choice for.the first of its kind.

Well if you like to match your straps to your accessories you're in luck!

Disclaimer: From what I can tell these shoes never actually went on sale Haha. But I was curious to the price. If a NATO can cost $270 I'd imagine these would go for even more than I'd care to imagine.

I just received mine in the mail. Weighs like half of a standard Omega NATO...not that they're heavy to begin with. I do like the cloth keepers over the stainless keepers.

I found this in a press release dedicated to Adidas shoes:

Biosteel has some advantages over ocean plastic–it’s easy to produce at scale, and while it’s 15% lighter than typical polyester, it’s modeled on silk, and the structure makes it extremely strong.
The material, [...] also avoids the environmental problems caused by the polyester [...] It’s fermented with bacteria and renewable resources, not made from fossil fuels. The production process doesn’t require high temperatures, saving energy.

Biosteel, [...] is a new material that is easily broken down in 36 hours with the addition of an enzyme.
Within 36 hours, you can safely rinse it down the drain.

Sounds kinda cool, but I am still not seeing myself paying $270 for a nato strap.

I ve been asking around if a producer can make nato straps from dyneema. MOQ is so high that its another kind of business. More like a kickstarter project

The Biosteel Nato looks great but I do not like the loops are made of Biosteel, too. I prefer metal loops.

Way to expensive standard fabric is already expensive but perfectly fine.
