good afternoon! i have enjoyed watches for many many years. i have owned Rolexes. currently have a date just and got a used submariner. the Sub is very dependable and sturdy. use it running, swimming, work, and weight lifting.

    some juvenile questions:

    1. would a Seamaster be as sturdy as the submariner?
    2. would a speedmaster? i might be afraid to swim with it.
    3. should i buy new or used.
i would buy this watch to USE, not keep in a drawer!

    thanks so much!

One word of advice...don't swim with a Speedmaster on! They were not made for that, if you want to swim with a watch a Seamaster would be the way to go.

Yeah...I'm aware of some folks who have swam in shallow water, but I've always felt they were pushing it with their Speedie!

Here's an independent (?) review and for what it is worth.. http://seamasterreferencepage.com/s...odel2254-50-00-vs-the-rolex-submariner-16610/ I couldn't decide myself and ended in getting both of these models! :D
