That's incorrect. Can't speak to the UK site but the US site has had the e-commerce component for quite some time now. I can't remember exactly since when but it has been many months at the very least.

Correct. I bought my wife’s deville prestige July 2018 from the site. Couldn’t find that particular watch anywhere so I sucked it up and paid full price. She was happy though lol

I think it has only recently been added to the GB/UK site, but has been an option in other areas for a while.

US was definitely a year or more ago. I've been getting their e-comm emails for quite a long while now.

I remember when Omega first started selling watches online in the US. Over at the Rolex forum, all of the Rolex guys were saying Rolex would never lower themselves to sell online. Now they wish Rolex would sell online to cut out the AD BS they have to jump through to get any SS sports watch.

There are many people who don't/can't visit a dealer or boutique, and don't like the back and forth of negotiating a sales price. They don't mind paying the retail price for a watch, and it gets delivered to their doorstep in a day or two. We keep hearing how millennials like the convenience of shopping online, getting their food delivered to them, etc, etc. This is just another example of that.

The convenience of online shopping is a given but for luxury items such as watches personally I prefer to have the customer service and the enjoyment of a boutique or an ad (with great service of course)
Besides I believe you should get a feel of the watch before for obvious reasons
    Cheers

That's because you are a watch enthusiast or an old-school person (no offence meant, I am 32, also enjoy going to the boutique, and I listen vinyls rather than online music streaming services)

More and more people do not hesitate to spend a lot of money without trying first. And it is not anymore a millenial-only thing, for example you can buy your brand new car online
