    Goof day to all!:p
Recently I’ve stumbled upon a BOR bracelet with a pretty cool sliding clasp. I remembered reading on OF somewhere that they are one of the first BOR bracelets but can’t seem to find more information on them which is why I’ve started a new thread.

    Beautiful raised omega symbol.

Old school “glide lock”;) clasp is really comfortable and you can make micro adjustments really easily.

    Unsigned end links.
It’ll be interesting to know the production years for these and which references they came with. I’m only aware of the late 50s references like the constellation 2948.

    Thanks for reading!

One of these is for sale on the Japanese Yahoo Auctions site, incidentally. I was curious about it myself.

Edit: And a very goof day to you, sir.

Yes, the unsigned end links are original. I had one on a 54 seamaster. Word on the street is that they would be the bracelet you'd get if you asked for one when purchasing a Ranchero. They probably command a bit of a premium over a regular clasp beads of rice, but I wouldn't say too much.

I found the one I owned would slide open if I moved my arm somewhat forcefully, so I was scared to wear it.

Ohhh that's an interesting little "rumour", i suppose that it could be true since they are from the same period.

Wow thats dangerous. Did you manage to remedy that? maybe fix the locking mechanism?

Sold it and got a BoR with a clasp. :p

The teeth from the "micro adjuster" probably got stripped after 60 years of use. I have held too many other of these sliding clasp's in hand to see if it was a one-off or if it is occurs on many of them.

Just to add to the collective wisdom, I have one that is exactly like the op's bracelet with the exception that it says "omega made in U.S.A" and has a jb champion sign. I guess it was made for the American market? It was originally on a pie pan constellation that I ended up selling but I think bracelets in the 50's were an add on, so you picked the one you liked, not so much for a specific watch. There is a add floating around with one on a seamaster.
Mine is very tight and it won't just flip off from a push, I think some might need to be tightened, people always try to open it incorrectly and I can see how over time the push button could loose its strength. Seems like you could bend it back to get it right again, but they are awesome when they work right, when your wrist swells in the summer you can still get a perfect fit. Its really smart, I l Iike it allot.

@Kja I was about to say the same. These bracelets are american made. I dont think you will see a swiss made BoR with that clasp.

    I
I thought that same thing untell I saw the op's watch, now I'm not so sure.. His didn't say American or jb champion.. I think his was made by omega? Maybe the American ones were just made to omega's specifications?

most (if not all) swiss made end links have the reference stamped, OP end links not having a reference makes me think it was manufactured this side of the pond.

Yes mine is just like Texomega's, but jb champion was the bracelet maker in America for omega, I know there was bracelet makers for omega in Europe and other countries, maybe the unumbered ones were made by a European bracelet supplier for omega, and that's why it has unumbered endlinks. I have seen a picture of a bunch of them on ranchero's too but I'm not sure if the member minds if its posted. Anyway there are gold capped ones, ones with gold on just the beads, etc. It seems like a somewhat popular bracelet in the 50's/60's. Maybe they were all made for omega though and not by omega,Idk. I have never seen one with numbered endlinks though.
