Omega AT GMT Chronograph

Took the plunge Grey Market on this piece.

It is pretty but man it’s a beast. The bracelet is thus far pretty uncomfortable. It’s a bit sharp and I “tire” relatively fast wearing it.

I ordered an OEM Omega blue rubber strap with deployment clasp for it.

1) Curious if anyone has this setup.

2) Opinion on blue on blue - too much blue? I’ve seen this piece online with leather not rubber. Hope it will look cool.

3) Any experience in switching to rubber strap after years of wearing steel? Will the blue rubber albeit quality OEM on blue face look far too casual? I’m sort of business casual at work.

My daily beater for over 20 years was a TAG Link Chronograph. Wore the bracelet pretty loose and it would slide like butter. Could flick it up wrist to check time and back etc.

just wondering if I’ll like the rubber strap experience (for $600 I’d better when it arrives! )

Appreciate you and any feedback…

I don't have any helpful feedback other than to say I like the dial layout quite a lot. It seems like a more legible way of combining all of those complications.

I also don't have any helpful feedback, but that is one chunky boy. 20mm in thickness?

Actually it’s 17mm / Omega site where this is discontinued has incorrect thickness which is strange but it is 17mm..

17mm is a bit more manageable. The thickest watch I have is a SMP 300m Chrono at 16mm and it wears decently. Yours does too.

That’s comforting to here. Hoping it will look good on OEM rubber with clasp - bracelet isn’t very comfortable unfortunately

Moved my standard 41mm AT from bracelet to the rubber strap. Agree it felt like a big outlay but I love it. All day comfort and so glad I did it, although I didn’t mind the bracelet.

I find that blue on blue looks fine.

This watch at only 38mm diameter and 15mm thick should look very chunky but it doesn't seem to.

That’s a very pretty Hamilton! Great value that brand. Love that on the blue leather

Very helpful thank you! I’ll have to hang on for a bit until it arrives. Do you/did you find the AT bracelet a bit sharp on the edges?

can’t say I noticed. Bracelet was pretty comfy for me but I wasn’t as keen on the polished centre links and wanted something I would worry less about day to day. I also really like the texture and stitching on the rubber AT strap. Often gets mistaken for leather and it still dresses up well as a result.

All so helpful . I agree on the polished center especially if I sell it at some point. The OEM strap for this one is same as planet ocean although it does have white stitching… Doesn’t have that cool metal finishing piece at the top like the AT one / and the middle is a little raised and tapers but doesn’t have the same textured pattern Middle as the AT version. We’ll see…this watch is surely heavier than the Standard AT which may be a reason it’s more unruly from the steel.

I normally like my watch to slide a bit. The rubber will hold it in place so I’ll need to get used to that

I wore this to the Omega Boutique and all of the new employees were checking it out. They said that these were not big sellers, but they sure are cool.
