This one arrived this week & somehow seems to have survived the journey across Europe in the flimsiest packaging I have seen on any watch, let alone one that is about 75 years old.

As far as I can make out it is what is described as "Art Deco Wristwatch CK 2023" available from 1938 on p.130 of AJTT, although the one pictured there has a different dial. There was a bit of discussion of it in Jim's Art Deco thread & I won the eBay auction at a pretty acceptable price.

It is a cal 26.5 with a 9m serial no, which places it at some time in the 30's or early 40's. If anyone has extra info in addition to what AJTT has to say, I'd be very interested.

And now, on to the pictures :)

The worrying part is, that if either of those watches had got into the hands of the typical trader they would have been re-dialled and the cases polished to a mirror finish. The stock of genuine vintage Omegas is being depleted at a rapid rate :(

And none of the eBay sellers that sell "oooo, shiny" will ever read that and realize what they're ruining. Sad, aint it?

Great looking watch. Are the numbers on the dial raised? I notice in Gatorcpa's watch they are.

    Jolly Good !
Glad you got this one, the other one we discussed in the thread is still for sale, the owner cancelled one auction's winning bid (shill I'm sure), raised the price and while supposedly located in New York, he answered my questions from a European address in either German or Dutch !
Sir, you certainly have the picker's knack.
