I too had noticed that a couple of weeks ago this watch was cheaper ... 👍

I think instead the owner entrusted his AS to someone who promised him astronomical earnings ...

It’s not the first Apollo-Soyuz Out of Batch watch I see with large puschers, but...it’s the first AS, after 20 years of research, that you see with a 35M movement.

Curious, how did they know it was no. 499? The number is not visible on the casback.

Many people use Photoshop to obscure the caseback and the movement number of the watch. In this case the movement number was published while the caseback seems to have been obscured.
This is Antiquorum... among the Top for seriousness... for me! but I still have the doubt for a serial I have never... never seen ...
The Omega Museum will have carried out the necessary checks

Why would the auction house obscure the number and also publish it to promote the sale?

I thought the Museum had no records tying serial numbers to these? There is a thread here trying to match numbers because Omega doesn't know, right?

Did Demarchi put the numbers on or did Omega?

The photos I have from the auction house clearly show 499 on the caseback. They are not known for their great photography skills. Of all the ASs I have in my notes, this is the only one with a movement in this range. Surprised they have a clean extract.

For lot 28, the extract was promised and then it was announced on bidding that Omega had refused it. Perhaps not surprising but still, it put me off going too high.

Great. Can you share them?

I tried editing the only picture they posted, the one he said they obscured, and i can barely make out the O And I, with a bit of the final number.

I didn't know that. Doesn't speak highly for this auction house. "Possibly unique" ... "Oops, nevermind".

Here's the back with the number. If it was you or me sending to a friend I would have said "Having seen a good few, to be fair, these numbers on the ASs are often very shallow and can be difficult to photograph". But this is an international auction house working on behalf of their clients to maximise their sale prices - I remain constantly shocked by the poor photography. This is actually a good one - some of the other lots where atrocious to the point of not being able to make any kind of quality assessment. I can only guess they want people in the room.

hello,
auction houses and collectors, on some occasions, hide the latest figures to prevent anyone from creating replicas...
I confirm that the Omega Museum does not have the list that associates the movements of AS watches with the numbers engraved on the caseback. This thing I had asked Omega but it could not be done because the engraving on the caseback was entrusted to the Italian distributor Omega (De Marchi). At that point, 15 years ago, I started doing it myself...

You won't get one from me - would have bid if it was a bargain or better quality than mine, but neither of those turned out to be the case 😁. I wanted the Gold Apollo XI or the 000/150.

This is a record for an Omega Apollo Soyuz OUT OF RANGE... I anticipated all this years ago...this was possible after the great opening of OMEGA but above all thanks to "Head of Brand Heritage at Omega"; PETROS PROTOPAPAS that in recent years has wanted to deepen the complex issue of the Out of Range and reconsider all those elements that in the past could not or did not want to be taken into account. In addition, OMEGA World will have a great image return because the battle of sports watches must always remain alive.

I personally wish it would die...

What are we talking about here?
What is “Omega world” and this “battle of sports watches”!? 👎
