No dealing this time around and I'd really only be interested in a specific trade, but I have until the weekend to decide if I will take it or not.
It's a real longshot but I'd like a blue dial yachtmaster, but as I said I don't even have the watch so at this stage it's immaterial
I think you will get one at an AD with a small wait. Not a model with huge premium so I suspect it wouldn’t take long. that said, if you can do an easy swap why not....
I'm happy to bide my time as I will wait and see if I like the new Titanium Bond watch which I'm hoping to see at an Omega event at the start of December.
I just had a voicemail from Goldsmiths in London asking if I want the 50th steel. Again, I put myself on the waiting list in late sept/Early Oct at some stores. Surely i'd be at the bottom of the list compared to others that are still waiting?
That's a really good looking watch, there's something about the YM that elevates about the submariner for me.
I’m not keen on the new submariners because of the plastic looking bezels. I got loads of compliments in the Caribbean when I was wearing it. It’s nice to be different for a change.
First post.. used the forum for lots of research on various models. Thanks for the insight everyone. Anyway. Got a totally unexpected call on Friday to say my Apollo 11 was being delivered on Saturday to the OB. TBH I had pretty much written off getting on as I put my name down a long time after the initial hype and thought I had missed the boat. Went with mixed feelings from the pics I had seen and the comments across forums and submissions related to articles written about this watch. Thought I would look and perhaps make my choice. Have to say as soon as I saw in the flesh I thought it was great. The strap is so nice. The watch is a lot more subtle that the pics present it as. Before going I was considering getting rid of my FOIS to cover some of the cost. Seeing this I can see they are very different and am now keeping both. Visited Kennedy space Centre earlier this year for the first time and left completely in admiration and bravery of those guys. I also happen to have hit 50 in the recent years which is why I bought my FOIS to link my 50th to something significant. As a long time watch collector it fitted the bill, I think this does the same but in a very different way. Even my wife told me to buy it and she usually asks why I need another watch.
Would like to ask the community if anyone has had a hard time winding up the steel 50th anniversary? In my experience so far It’s been unusually hard to wind my watch up every time I wear it and was wondering if it’s a normal thing everyone is experiencing with the new watch. In comparison I have a FIOS as well that is an absolute pleasure to wind up! Any input/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
