    Hey team,

A friend of mine is looking to sell this beautiful piece and I have the right to first refusal. Most of you already know this watch but for those who do not, this is the speedmaster Apollo 11 35th anniversary.

This beauty was released in 2004 and is very unique from the other speedmaster being that it is a panda.

Anyway, moving on the the needing your advice piece: this watch is literally flawless, barely worn and not a scratch on it. Comes with the full kit, box and papers and everything else it came with in 2004. What do you think the would be a fair price? Would you even go for it?

What has the trend been recently with these, does anyone know? Hard to locate recent prices? I mean people can ask what they want on eBay and Chrono24, doesn’t mean it’s going to sell for that.

I know the old adage here is “don’t buy as an investment” and I totally get it and I don’t plan to, however, I buy these now because I can and can afford to but if the job were to go sideways, I still want to be able to liquidate quick without losing too much money so yeah, do we see an upward or downward trend?

Also.. not my picture, had to find out from the Internet.

    Thanks again for chiming in.

    I’d loose my #ST1 for a well-cared for, complete A11 35th

Try searching in watch patrol. You’ll be able to find prices sold on forums. eBay has a feature to see recent sold items too. The market for limited editions vary and ultimately it’s what you’re willing to pay for a collector item. Good luck!

Thanks for replying. Yep, it’s a pretty special piece. This one is a very well cared for, I mean not a single scratch. Full kit, box, papers, flawless bracelet, tag in the box, I’m talking, dude has prolly wore it 5 times tops. Mostly sat in the drawer.

We are looking at $8500 price wise.. opinions on price? Fair?

Yeah I’ll check out watch patrol, that’s a good shout, thanks!

I checked eBay sold listing, only shows the one that was offered at 12k and then “best offer accepted” and doesn’t show how much this best offer was.

At the moment I’m thinking I don’t want to go higher then $9k. Thoughts?

If the price seems fair to you and the seller, and if you like it and you will enjoy it, then do the deal. I don't think you are too far off the mark.

Bought mine in November 2011 for AU$3600 and sold it to a Canadian collector in October 2017 for AU$11000 (you can do the exchange rate maths). I thought the introduction of the very similar Tokyo Olympic model would have an impact on price, but not sure that it has - certainly not in this Apollo 11 Anniversary year. Perhaps the price will soften going forward, but so far I have seen them listed for more than I sold mine for.

In terms of the uniqueness of Panda dialled Speedmasters, these were issued at the relatively large number of 3500, plus the 300 Mitsukoshi LEs, and now another 2075 Tokyo 2020 references, so there are quite a few Panda Speedies out there.

Authenticity, condition and provenance. A modded watch is arguably missing two of those.

Yes, you are right. My point was moreso that it's not possible to mod to get the ST1

I think $8500 to $9000 is a good price for one in great condition. It’s a lovely dial and the full kit would be nice to have.
