Sarei grato a chiunque potesse fornirmi maggiori informazioni....

    Omega ca1920's cal.19.4 ....... (France)

The OP needs to identify precisely this watch which for him/her seems to be a particularly rare piece.
He/she believes that it was produced for a limited time and was given to military and paramilitary personnel, public administration, doctors, Red Cross nurses and to others
He/she would be grateful for any information.

My assessment is that the watch was originally an early Omega wrist watch (circa 1920) where the lower strap lug had been broken off.

Some enterprising person then cleaned up the broken / worn lug wire and converted it by adding a lapel starp and pin, and then concocting an amusing, though unlikely "history" for this "rare" item.

That really doesn't make sense, as the wearer, looking down at the watch, would have to turn it 180º to read the time properly.

    Rare?

    Not really.

It would be a good project to return to its original configuration by having a jeweller fix a wire lug to the empty side and using it for its intended purpose.
