Recently bought a '65 Seamaster from the Omega Addict, Tim Mackrain. It's perfect. I'll never buy a vintage Omega anywhere else. Kudos to this guy and the wonderful work he does. Thanks, Tim!
A Timex dropped in acid would look perfect from that range. Post some hi-def close-ups so my aging eyes can admire it, please.
I know I'm not a self proclaimed "Vintage Omega Aficionado", but I was able to piece together that his offerings are polished up a bit. Some of us simply like a "new" looking watch.
Indeed, I will admit to having been tempted by a couple of vivid_lily's offerings. She's kind of like omega_addict on steroids, often replating gold cases. Both these sellers are completely upfront about what they do, though, which is admirable.
Actually not self proclaimed at all, only the moderators of the forum are able to bestow such titles.
I've spoken with Tim. He stands by his work and tells you what, if any mods he's done to the watch. Good communication.
I’ve bought many watches from Tim . I’ve had him restore and service watches. He often advises I not use a redone dial in a nice original case! He often doesn’t polish my cases very much and I sometimes ask why? He doesn’t polish original cases that aren’t not needing work.
The point is many people prefer patina on a case to soft over polished edges. At least collectors do, but collectors are not buying from those sources. Hence a collectors forum has different views then the market.
Having an unusual issue with the stem coming out on my 1959 Constellation. I was considering sending it to Tim.
