Definitely my favourite find of 2021 so far and I doubt I will top it.
I got the feeling this hadn’t been opened since manufacture and after a service and new plexi I have fallen more in love with it than before.
Lead seal still in place, I didn’t want to change or touch anything apart from the plexi and a case screw that had broken in the main plate.
Original thin arrow radium dial and original radium hands too.
I found an old RAF wrist compass and a friend made me a AF0210 type strap for it which looks great. Bloody love this watch!

You are about 8th in line.
I won't sell this, the last one I sold a couple of years ago still haunted me until I found this one.

Very nice example! I have been toying with selling mine as part of my ongoing purge, but just haven't found the will yet.

I'm sure you will have no end of buyers but will regret it if you do sell it.
I picked this up pretty cheaply without seeing the inside at all, these watches are hard to find in original condition so it was well worth the risk.
I do love 53s in all forms but the thin arrow dial is the cherry on top for me.

Congrats again Michael, now it is confirmed all original it was indeed a genuine bargain. It had that look from the initial pics that it was a good 'un so definitely an easy calculated risk.

I was a bit worried about what the movement might look like but it was a stunner inside and out. a bit of rust around the movement ring but most of these do.
Will add pictures before service.

Cheers, Michael
