Just got this about a month ago. Its the original Omega pilots watch from the 1940's. About 7 years ago it had been serviced at Omega Vintage UK/Swiss time. The case was cleaned but not polished so its all original. The dial which is also 100% original was left untouched. The movement was taken down and cleaned and serviced. The crystal was replaced.
I was amazed to find a watch of this age in such original and amazing condition. It also comes with the extract from the archives from Omega. The Omega extract of archive confirms it was produced on 28/8/1941.

This is what it made room for, I traded it for a 2998 FAP and sold that to but this, no everyone's cup but I love it

It's a 28.9 prototype, the dial was originally made for a fob chronograph that never went in to production. Very few of the dials made it on to wrist watches in drivers configuration, the only other remaining one is in the a omega museum collection in bienne

The dial on this one is absolutely flawless and you would miss it was an omega if not for the logo and tiny script on the lower sub-dial

It's watches like these that prove how high the quality of Omega watches can be... Although to be honest, I could not have said that this watch is untouched as OP said...

I was wondering how it should be worn. Thank you for posting the wrist shot.

I love how the tachy winds all the way down to 20!

JohnLy, do you wear the watch or does it spend more time in the watch case? I like the look of it with the large plain arabic numerals. It is a nice simple piece. I wonder if I would wear it since it is so old. Maybe I'm too cautious.

I wear it but am careful as I am with most of my watches. It runs great and looks good on the wrist.

Indeed large for it's time but it had to be easily visible and readable... Hence the arabic fairly large numbers too...
