Hi Everyone, I'm pretty familiar with speedys, but don't know much about these older cal 30T2. Dial and hands look original or not? I have looked around on the internet a bit, and I have seen these hands before, but not often. If it's original what do you think is a fair price? Seller asking $1115 which I assume is crazy. thx!
assumed as much, thx for the confirmation. Seller description in another language and not explicit regarding the dial.
I can confirm that there are 30T2s with that kind of hands. This is mine (I'm still looking for a better dial btw) In journey through time you can find a few This is one of them (page 139 in the French version) The text even gives us the name of these hands: they are called Pontife which means bishop. I'd be interested to know why this form got that name. As for the OPs dial I agree with the others that it is redone.
thanks for the info about the hands, I really like them. Guessing it would be hard to find them on an original dial in very good shape.
Here's one for auction: https://auction.catawiki.com/kavels...tent=53681&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_source=pn Hard to say if it's original but it looks at first glance like it could be.
Just saw this one for sale today but I wonder about the star on the dial. Any thought anyone? https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/...0396/lot-5d3cccff-1fb0-4df6-a51c-a80900f33136
Saw that too. The star was a feature on some dials that were destined for South America (Brazil, I think), but those models were produced later than this one if I remember correctly. Maybe some of the 30 mm experts could chime in because I'm curious as well.
This star is found on several references, not only on those destined for the Brasilian market... IMO this star is very much overrated - it does not add any bonus to the watch - it had been a mere marketing tool of Omega in those days...
