Ben Clymer shared a 2998-6 delivered to RCAF Metz station that he had at the end of this video he did on Revolution relatively recently... don't know if this was already discussed but thought I'd share.
Great one previous owner watch but not quintessential in my opinion, Ok Wally had the -5 or -6 but the 2998-4 with the Alpha subdial hands and Lollipop chrono and Radium is the grail for me. And I think a Speedy looks better when Baton sub dial hands are matched with Baton hour & minute hands!
Can anyone explain the silver colour of the drop second hand? Could it be that the white paint has been removed at some point.
What an uninformed clickbait regarding the Omega Speedmaster....calling it a Military Speedmaster, because it was bought privately tax-free on a duty free store on an Airforce Base.....that is a blatant Lie for unsuspected Collectors. There is only one Military issued Omega Speedmaster. Peruvian Airforce. Nothing else. Ever. Unless you consider Nasa as a part of the US Airforce......
Is the term pretentious applicable for this interview?. I love to talk about watches as much as the next guy but this conversation borders on sickening. I have been around people with real money that would never speak this way about material purchases and money amoungst friends, let alone on a recorded interview. Great watches but this is to much.
