Omega 2777-1 - Looking for Info/Authenticity

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some more info on this watch.

I did do some research earlier and came across this link:

https://squelettewatches.com/omega-pilot-1953-a-tale-of-watch-restoration-en/

From that it seems that the dial is from the Omega factory pre-2002? One thing that is questionable to my very-inexperienced eyes is the crown. The photos I have seen online of this model have a plain crown, while mine has an Omega logo on it.

So what do you guys/gals think? Is this authentic? What would the approximate value of this watch be?

That is indeed a 2777-1 with a Bienne replacement dial. And yes the crown is a replacement. Value is trickier but not many of these hit the open market. I’d say it’s valued at less than an example with a nice original TA dial but above the FA dial examples.

Thanks so much! I had seen posts in this forum referring to painted dials, and even fake dials, so I wanted to check to see if there was something that I wasn’t noticing myself, so this is good to know. Thank you again!

Hi like said above a bienne dial would be nice to get a nos crown, I know a lot of people don’t like patina so this would be perfect, I have the radium thin arrow version but I like these too, thete a fb group called military watches (issued only ) there’s some good watchmakers on there that can supply a crown.
