The 2605 should have a cal 266 movement, but thats not what is in your watch.

Paul, as Joe has indicated the movement in this watch is not the correct caliber 266 (30mm). It is a much older caliber 26.5 variant from the mid 1930's
Can you explain this?

If that is the case someone pulled a fast shuffle during servicing .

Sad to inform you that the watch is not worth anything near your asking price at this point perhaps, 50-100 euros for parts

The model number is as you stated, it is a 2606-5 The movement caliber should be 266. If you wish to restore it you would need to contact Omega or a watchmaker. Restoration would cost you far more then the watch is worth and I would only attempt it for sentimental reasons and if you were going to keep the watch. In the mean time I will withdraw the watch for sale while you contemplate its future.

Let's try this a different way and maybe you'll get it - the reference number is 2606-5….but somewhere along the lines the wrong caliber was put inside that case. It is NOT a correct 2606-5 anymore, unless you can find a caliber 266 to replace the mismatch movement that was installed. Even then, it will never be original again.

Does that make it clear to you?
