Hello all. I have recently listed a few watches from the collection. It is tough to see them go but I have a new car purchase coming up and need to free up some cash. Third up is a very nice vintage Omega Suveran 2400-7. My favorite aspect about this watch is its unusual grey dial with roman Roman Numeral markers. I have not seen many with this dial configuration. The clean 30T2 movement also adds to the quality of this watch. Case: Overall, the case is in excellent condition and appears to be either unpolished or very lightly polished in the past. The inside of lugs are sharp and bezel contours are retained. Lugs are nice and thick with drilled holes. There are tiny superficial nicks and scratches, commensurate with age. Case measures 35 mm without crown and 42 mm lug to lug. It has nice wrist presence due to the thick case and long lug-to-lug distance. Crown: Unmarked crown. It may likely be original given not all crowns from this time period were marked. However, I am not 100% sure. Caseback: Great condition screw down caseback. Minimal scratches from prior opening attempts. Back is marked “Omega Suveran.” Inside is marked 2400-7. Watchmakers service marks are seen peripherally. Movement: Very clean 30T2 movement with original retaining ring. 10.4 mil serial dates this to around 1944/1945. This watch was not serviced in my possession but has been running well without noticeable gain or loss of time over 24 hours. Winding is firm, but winds completely with good power reserve. However, if you intend on wearing it daily, a service is always recommended. Dial: Original unrestored dial in excellent overall condition. It has developed a unique grey patina. Small subdial at 6 o’clock. Uncommon dial variation with Roman Numerals at 12-2-4-8-10. Hands: Hour and minute hands are later replacements but fit the watch nicely. The minutes hand touches the minute marks as it should. Crystal: Unmarked crystal. Strap: Generic 18mm black leather strap with stainless steel buckle.
