Hello everyone,

I just bought this watch, which mounts a caliber 23.4 T2 from the year 1939 and I would like to know if someone can tell me if it is original or offer me any interesting information about it. I have spent many hours searching for a similar model on the web and I have not been able to find it. Is this considered a military watch? Does it have a rare dial or is it restored? What about the crown?

Thanks in advance.

I can’t tell you much, but here I what I can say:

1. The watch looks pretty good to me. I don’t see anything that doesn’t fit the time frame, except for possibly the hands (more on that in a moment).

2. Highly unlikely is was an issued military watch, although it’s always possible that it was the personal watch of a WWII soldier. There are no property markings that I can see on the dial. Is there anything engraved on the outside of the case back?

3. The dial looks like it’s the original printing, but it also looks like it could have had radium on it at one time. If so, then the hands are certainly not original. If it is all white paint, then the hands could be correct.

Calling @Tire-comedon for more info.

Looks all good to me.
Could well be a CK 2124, here in a 1940 French catalog, with same hands. (is it 30.5mm diameter?) :

I don't have the watch yet. The seller has to send it to me tomorrow.
I have asked him if the watch had luminous material and he has told me no. Even so, I have doubts with the numbers, but: would it also have luminous material at that circumference around the sphere? Could it be a "gilt" dial?
I'm going to ask the seller what the size of the watch is.

Have the CK2124 roman numbers instead of arabic ones? and caliber is 23.4 instead of 23.4T2?

Thanks so much for your help 😀

The catalogue image from Tire-Comedon says "Cadran 836" as an option; so maybe this is the dial you have.

The dial looks original to me and I suspect the markings are in white paint (enamel?) and not gilt.

Gilt markings will be in a gold tone.

Omega produced a number of dial variations for individual references.
This catered to different customer tastes and so broadened the market for Omega.

The difference between 23.4 and 23.4T2 is negligible, usually slight improvements in design/manufacturing.

The dial and hands look correct to me, I don't see anything that makes me think it had lume at one point. As Gator pointed out, it's not a military issue watch. I think you grabbed a really nice watch, congratulations.
