Omega 2292 RAF?

Hello,

I recently have purchased an Omega 20T2, I have been doing some research, and there seems to be quite a large variety of these watches made for different parts of the RAF?, resulting in lots of slightly different designs. My problem is that the one I have bought has a face that I have not seen on any other 20T2, and was wondering if anybody could tell me anything about it, and or whether this is an original face. I will include some pictures to help with identifying it. Please not that the outside face of the mechanism cover plate has not got any markings or engravings on it such as 6B/159. The person who I bought it from mentioned the watches connection to bomber command?

Also, I'd like the watch put back to as original as possible condition, so if there is anything that you can spot that doesn't look correct, please let me know, thank you in advance 😀

Do you mean 30T2? Some more pretty fundamental research needed perhaps 😉

More seriously, the dial text font feels later than the 1940s to me so as you suggest above, I wonder if this dial has been redone at some point. Or it could be a late C20 service dial. It may well have started as an issued mil watch but the lack of caseback marks and the refurbished dial (if indeed it is) will kill a lot of the collector interest. An extract of the Omega archive would confirm MOD issue but isn’t cheap.

ps, the 30T2 refers to the 30mm dia movement and is used in millions of omega watches not just military stuff. A better way to identify that piece would be using the 4 digit number in the caseback, namely 2292. A post with that in the title (or RAF watch or similar) might get more input from the mil watch experts.

here is a 2292 I found on the net with a fully original dial

Thank you, two questions if I may, firstly what is A C20 service dial? And second of all, how hard is it to get an original Dial and where I might find one (other than eBay of course).

By late c20 I mean 20th century. The font looks circa 1980 give or take a decade. It will be very hard to get an original dial I would think. Though eBay is as good a place to look as any.

I have an original dial with a pleasing patina that I might consider selling. Was going to save for a project watch 😀 DM me if you're interested.
