Hi Gang,

I'm enduring my first bout of COVID. It is crappy - and odd - but I clearly am having one the unpleasant and inconvenient variant versus those who suffered through much worse.

On the bright side, in between, bouts of feeling sleepy or lousy, I've been watching watch-vids and reading articles.

UPDATE: ( I found the article that mentions and end of June event). According to a May Financial Times article about dive watches. When they turn to Omega, they say about the new Seamaster : “Full details are to be announced at the end of June on an as-yet undisclosed Aegean island.”

Is this June thing true? Anyone heard anything?

I can’t comment on the Seamaster anniversary, but I hope that you feel better soon. After 5 vaccinations and avoiding Covid for 3 years, I got it last month and was home sick for two weeks with complications (I’m asthmatic). Ended up on the Paxlovid antiviral which helped quite a bit, although I am still very tired. Didn’t really enjoy it. 🙁

You're like me. I avoided it for so long and got caught at a wedding last weekend ( I think ). I editted my tongue-in-cheek "enjoying" to "enduring" above in the first sentence, based on your comments. I'm so sorry you have lingering issues. Your experience is like many of my friends and I hope you recover soon. I was given the anti-viral, immediately, which I hope helps.

On a different note, I have found our goofy watch hobby was such a gift during lock down, when i really stepped up my then casual interest into obsession - and is a great distraction when I'm not feeling well. Partially, because I like the subject matter - but also because I find, with few and rare exceptions, the people on these blogs tends to be just great.

Omega coming to a big announcement in the end of June regarding the Seamaster anniversary. Is this a real thing? I've seen the leaked image from the advertisement - but a new colorway doesn't feel "big event" worthy.
This thread may help? Though, if you’ve seen the leaked image, maybe not? At the least, it’ll provide some reading to fill your time.

Seems a bit small for the big release? Remember how we thought there wasn't going to be anything on the Bond 60th, then they came out BIG. I'm suspicious that this is just "one thing" - unless it is the beginning of a new platform.

BUT, they should have more than this? I mean, where are their novelties for the year? They've got to roll out soon or they'll miss the buying season. It's just odd.

Me too. I think the leaked post came from "Omaga".

Sorry about the covid. I'm like you were, haven't had it yet. Must have been a surprise when the kit said positive.

Found it! The article is a little blurb from a May Financial Times article about dive watches. When they turn to Omega, they say about the new Seamaster : “Full details are to be announced at the end of June on an as-yet undisclosed Aegean island. ”
