·Good day all. Up for sale is a classic 1960 Constellation 14393 with a black pie pan dial in good condition.
The Details:
Type: Omega Constellation
Reference: 14393
Year: 1960
Serial: 17441217
Caliber: 561
Case: 34mm
Dial: Beautiful unrefinished black pie pan dial and gold crosshair, dauphine lumed hands and gold markers.
Strap; Black alligator
Condition:
As with nearly every vintage black dial, there is some deterioration. In this watch, there is some deterioration in the center of the dial, but it is generally seen only on very bright sunlight and the overall dial is very attractive. The case is good and I don't believe that it has been polished. The case back is in good condition. The gold medallion is well preserved on the Geneva Observatory and all eight of the stars. The crown is correct and in good condition. The crystal appears to be a generic replacement.
Movement: Omega automatic caliber 561 with 24 jewels and a semi quickset calendar function. The movement is clean and in excellent condition and was recently checked by my watchmaker who concluded that it does not currently need service. The watch is keeping very good time at +8 to +16 SPD depending upon position. The watch winds up very smoothly and both the crown action and hand setting is very precise. I do not have service records,
Accessories: This watch includes a vintage Omega box.
About Me:
I'm an avid collector of vintage Omega and I've got a soft spot for JLC as well. I've been a very active member of Omega Forums since 2018 and I'm one of the organizers of the annual Omega Forums Mid-Atlantic G2G (now going into its 4th year!). While I'm generally more of a buyer than a seller, my past buyers have been satisfied with our transactions:
