Hello , I'm new to this forum . I recently got a seamater from an inheritance. I'm looking for some information about the seamaster. Found a lot through your forum.
is it true that this is an original seamaster from 1958, given the big logo?
sorry for my english i'm dutch.
Thanks Momo .

Welcome. Case and crown look original but unfortunately the dial has been repainted.

The bracelet appears to be a later addition as well.

Welcome to the forums! Nice inheritance, and agree that it's likely a 1958 (the big logo at the back is the telltale). The dial, while looking quite nice, has been repainted -- if you compare to the many pictures on the internets, you'll see the font is a little "soft", the Omega should have a pointed top A (not like the flat-top As in automatic); you get used to seeing all this detail after a while.

Still, lovely watch and you’ll enjoy wearing it.

99% of people who admire it will have no idea that the dial is repainted.

Agreed. Repainted, but actually better than most redials. Only you and Omega collectors will know.
