I don't think there is much new information, still likely to be the end of July beginning of August as far as I can find out. I'm waiting for the Speedmaster too!
Finally got round to downloading some of the photos from the Hamburg BW2017 Highlights event so rather than waffle on here are the ones that weren't too blurry (the Boutique was ridiculously hot/humid and the Bollinger wasn't making matters better). I'm sure I took some photos of the Speedie and the Railmaster but I guess I was more interested in the Seamaster. Of course there was plenty of other stuff to see as well It's certainly big and very blue, but this was what caught my eye The one place I wasn't expecting to find that new Naiad Lock system was here The caseback is beautifully executed but that internal edge is razor sharp, so I guess a few folks will complain about that if Omega don't soften the edge a bit. The strap however is the exact opposite. Super comfortable. Yes it's the regular Railmaster and I think it blows the '57 away. I love it! Works for me
A few other bits 'n' bobs that I found interesting. The regular bracelet on the new Aqua Terra models has a strangely flattened butterfly clasp. Why? I think the ladies stuff was pretty good this year...thankfully there is no significant "other" so I won't have to cough up for any of these any time soon.
Man, as a lover of the 2500 Railmaster/AT, I'm struck by how thick that thing looks on a strap. That would probably be the main reason that keeps me from newer models.
Lovely, the lugs look quite long on the railmaster, I wonder where the lug holes are and how leather straps will look on it, hadn't noticed the lugs looking long until now.
Thanks for the photos! So excited to pick up my speedy. I'm curious for those who have seen these in the metal, how would you characterize the dial color? In the initial renderings released by omega they're a rich chocolatey brown, but in all the live photos I've seen so far they seem to range somewhere between a slate grey and black.
I've been wondering this myself. I was drawn to the faux patina brown i've seen, but most of the photos is more subtle
My Omega AD has been told by the his Rep to expect receipt of the '57 Trilogy watches the end of this month. He also had great things to say about the regular Railmaster.
I would have been more surprised if he had said it were a wrist born turd to be honest. Not that I am suggesting anything of the sort you understand.
got a call today from the OB! They said my reservation is confirmed! And the watch is coming! Soooo happy!
Got an email last night from my OB. Under the guise of the new Bond Seamaster (which I respectfully declined), she said the Trilogy should be here soon both individual and full sets. Wouldn't give me more than that because she was a touch worried about the dates she was given. Who knows?!
Got one of the Speedy "reserved" but I am now reconsidering the move..... I have yet to see it in real life but I am afraid it might be too dressy for my taste . I tend to gravitate towards sport looking pieces so I am a tad worried on this one
I'd imagine, considering i've not seen it in the flesh, that a NATO or a distressed leather strap will make it a sportier look. Good news is, you have one on reserve. Worst case, you see it and set it back into the wild Better that than wanting one and not being able to secure one at MSRP
