Look: I was trying to politely end this bicker-fest between you two. Now you are getting snarky with me. What are you aiming to accomplish here? You've made it repeatedly clear what you think of Speedolex and his posts. Ramming it further down people's throats, and baiting him at every opportunity serves no purpose. Really, we do all get it, we hear you, you've made it loud and clear, now please, give it a rest.

Ok, thanks again. I was trolled, baited and wrongly responded to it. Tried to add some humor to it, which obviously failed. How's by you give it a rest, too?

Given my new Omega bug, I actually placed a deposit on the '57 Speedmaster this morning. The OB in White Plains NY apparently (according to their assistant mgr) has allocation left over should anyone be interested. Have never dealt with them before, so take it with a grain of salt, but wanted you all to know

Thanks for the info. Just passed it along to a friend who is looking for one.

That's a classy response, thanks. I let it get out of hand for a moment. Damn vodka...

As for actual Omega info, I ordered an LE Seamaster and was told a May deliver date was expected. I can't freaking wait. I love my Seamaster 300 MC, but this LE is just awesome.

Are you planning on keeping both or selling the Seamaster 300 MC?

I'm undecided right now. I can't get the MC off of my wrist and can't get the LE out of my head. I'm planning on deciding when I have both in hand. What's the going rate for kidneys in today's market?

They're both such great watches, I can see that being a tough one. I'm sort of secretly hoping that the LE devalues that MC a little bit so I can pick one up on the cheap. I went for the LE speedy and would be great to have an SM300 to go along with it. Would love to take a watch like that diving. Would be a big upgrade over the seiko I take with me now.

The SM300 MC on paper is the better watch. Better movement with quickset hour hand and the twin mainspring barrels. The see-through caseback is also pretty cool. Better value price-wise too. But those damn pictures of the LE are throwing any last bit of logic and contentment out the window.

I'm giving myself excuses. Like, "Look at these 21mm lugs... they're too wide!"

I thought Ellis died in the Nakatomi Tower in 1988. Turns out he's alive and well. Great to know the 80's attitude lives on.

Regarding 300MC VS 300LE:
I was hoping to fall in love with the 300MC and went to my local boutique to try it on, but I was disappointed by how thick it was on my wrist. Plus it was so shiny with the polished lugs, shiny ceramic bezel and polished center links. The 300LE does away with 2 of those (polished side links instead and Al bezel). I prefer the case thickness of the LE, plus I don't care for a glass back on an automatic....no need.

In 1957, Omega introduced three watches for professional use: the Railmaster for scientists and engineers, the Seamaster 300 for divers and the Speedmaster for sports, race car drivers and engineers as well. Now, 60 years later, Omega felt the time was right to bring hommage to these watches. Let us introduce you to the 60th […]

Visit Fratello Watches to read the full article.

Placed an order for the Rail today. My first new Omega . . .

My pleasure. Glad I could contribute to the community early in my residency.

Re Speedmaster 1957 bracelet for FOIS/2998.
I would love to fit the bracelet of the newly-released Speedy to my FOIS. So, I contacted Omega directly about the fit. They simply said, the FOIS/2998 came on leather straps only and they wouldn't supply me with it. The ref number for the bracelet should be: 020STZ006241. I went on to contact a big grey market dealer which was willing to enquire again. Omega said to them that the lug holes are placed differently, so the bracelet won't fit. But I believe that there's still a fighting chance that the bracelet fits. I don't believe Omega's claim since they want the watches to stay true to the original. Moreover bracelets such as the 020ST1565976 fit quite perfectly. If anyone knows more, please post it here. Thank you very much!

Hi and welcome to the forum!

I don't think you'll have a 100% certain answer to this until the watches are out and someone with a FOIS actually tries it.

@Meme-Dweller how do you know the 8400 is better than the 8806 (is that the caliber?)
I love my 8400 and really figured the new contender would be the same just Metas'ed.
Little on the new movement that I could find.
Would certainly go for the trilogy if I could - think I will try to piece together my own variety.

I guess it's a little subjective. I had the date version of the movement on the 2016 39.5mm Planet Ocean. Accuracy was 2 seconds worse than my 8400 which runs +1/day. Everything else was pretty much the same except lack of quickset hour hands and there's a chance that torque delivery is a little worse due to the single barrel once the power reserve starts running out but I haven't tested that out yet.
