Am afraid to say this is a complete fake. Also this is not a 1970's period buckle. I would return it for a full refund if I were you.

Yes it looks like a "homage" buckle and not the real thing as it just isn't fine enough in its execution.

EBay is teeming with these oriental confections. Here's what a real late 60s one looks like at the back

    Cheers

These are getting better. The fakers are now putting the space between "Plaque" and "G".

    eBay buyers, Caveat Emptor!

    Interesting. The seller states -

"OMEGA Yellow heavy gold plated 16mm Logo Buckle marked on inside back: "PLAQUEG SWISS" Circa: 1970. Extra Bold Logo. I have this new, but old stock Omega Logo buckle. This Omega buckle is a lost or discontinued Omega style, which is thicker and more stylish than current production Omega logo buckles. This buckle associates well with the early Omega so called: “BOMBAY“ heavy or thicker lug designs of the 1950s and 60s. Especially collectible Omega buckle. THIS IS A FINE COLLECTIBLE. DON'T INVEST IN THE STOCK MARKET. BUY SOMETHING PROVEN IN TIME."

So on that basis you would appear to have good grounds to return the item and get a refund. Of course you have to prove to everyone's satisfaction that the buckle is not a genuine Omega piece.

Yes I contacted the seller and told him of my concerns he assured me it was authentic but if I wanted to return it he would give a full refund. I am leaning towards it being authentic buckle from what year not sure but judging some internet research this seems to be a hard thing to authenticat

This same seller is known for his fake sterling silver Omega buckles and refinished dial Constellations that he claims are original finish.

You didn't do too badly. Here in the UK exactly the same buckle goes for £30 GBP, usually.

Good move. Be patient on finding original buckle. Sometimes it is more difficult than finding the watch itself.

This seller seems to sell a lot of buckles that all look like this one. Leery
