I feel that the risk is limited in terms of the watch not being original, but Omega would need to provide an official response for there to be zero risk...

It's certainly not the ultimate version for collectors, but it seems to me to be a beautiful vintage watch with an unpolished case in very good condition. So I'm going to take a chance on it.
It's a shame that Omega aren't currently providing extracts of the archive at the moment - or you could have applied for one and been the collector that proved that these watches were indeed genuine and supplied to the Far East (or alternatively threw further doubt upon their authenticity)

You could always contact Omega - advise them of the discussion and give them the serial number and ask the question - you never know, you could get lucky and receive a response.

It's a very nice watch - you should enjoy it regardless of its provenance.

You have done the research and understand the issues. It’s a beautiful watch which you like and you’ve made an informed decision. So now it’s time to get it on your wrist and enjoy it! Post photos when it arrives. Congrats.
