Hello everyone! I bought this watch a year ago and a little while ago i was at a servicecenter to change the glas of this pie pan before i sell it. And this guy at the center asked me if i knew that this was a rosegold constellation. I have had a couple of dealers giving me strangely high bids in the past, but i wanted to keep it, and didnt think of it anymore. The servicecenter brought another watch to show me the difference (you can se it on one of the pictures), and i saw a difference, but when i have it in normal sunlight it looks like a normal yellow-gold. Please comment, what do you think? I took a couple of picturesfrom different views. Appriciate the expertise. And sorry for the bad english.
Difficult to tell from the pictures. Looks yellow to me, although the dial looks a bit pinkish. The other watch could very well be 14K gold, which would explain the colour difference. I had a 168.005 in 18K and it was rather warm coloured. Rosé gold is rather hard to capture. Best to place them next to yellow to tell. This Longines for instance looks suspiciously yellow in pictures when it's by itself, but the moment you place it next to a yellow specimen, you can tell it's pink.
BTW -- if it is pink gold, twist my arm hard enough and I might be persuaded to take it off your hand (wrist).
I'd say it's a yellow gold watch and that the slight difference in tone you see is due to the other watch being 14K - not 18K as this is. The dial looks somewhat more like rose gold, however.
My vote is yellow too The dials can look a little more 'amber' with age compared to the case My 14381 18k -definitely all yellow gold
Bollocks mate. I'm off for my 2 hour lunch break in a minute, who knows how many interesting watches I miss.
To give you an idea of 14 vs 18 carat Omega gold colour, here's a pic of a 14 next to an 18 carat Connie. And now I'm really off for lunch.
I think youre maybe right Bart. Here you have another picture. And yes the bracelet is 18k. I have to take this to a omega shop to compare the colours
I'm still on the fence, but it is more pinky in that last pic. Anyway, I think it'll look even better on my wrist
Gold content and colour are not necessarily related. Omega uses EN/ISO standards for gold colours, so they follow this listing: 0N - green yellow 1N - pale yellow 2N - light yellow 3N - yellow 4N - pink 5N - red WE - white Both 14k and 18k gold can come in pale yellow, light yellow, and yellow gold colours, so you can't distinguish the gold content by the colour. So for example the 14381 gold case shown by Peemacgee comes in BA and BB case codes, which are 2N (light yellow) and 3N (yellow) 18k gold respectively. So two 18k 14381 cases can have different colours of yellow gold. Cheers, Al
Thankyou all for your comments. Appriciate all the expertise. The dial is defenitly RG. But i can now see that the glasring is a different colour from the case. And so is the crown. I think i have to fond myself A yellow gold one to compare with. Its the wrong bracelet it seems anyway. Thanks again.
The watch is rosegold, trust the service center. It may have the wrong bezel on it, ask the service center if they can fix that for you.
I think you may have hit the nail on the head there, looking again the bezel does look more yellow than the rest of the case. OP?
Great info as ever All we need now is someone to line up all the gold case codes that @Archer mentioned to see them side by side Somebody here is bound to have a few of them in their collection
