Becoming drawn to these....what's the general opinion on here about them? Do many people own one....they don't seem to be as collected as the other earlier divers from what i've seen. Any owner pics appreciated. Thanks guys.
An actual rare watch, you don't see many for sale and are much harder to find than the banana version which in itself is not a very common watch. The poppy suffers from being a bit dull looking compared to the banana version. I think the banana will always be more desireable because of its looks. The difficulty is finding one with a nice bezel as it is not possible to buy replacements from omega. If I did not have a banana version ai would definitely buy the poppy though.
Hi @lillatroll Thanks for your post... any pics of the bannana? Did they originally come on the mesh stap or 1171? This one is a 1 owner unpolished...looks good to me. Service crown otherwise all original.
Also check the older private sales forum here, there was a member selling a poppy on bracelet and/or strap options. I'm guessing about 4 months back. I loved it but couldn't pull the trigger and can't recall if it sold or was withdrawn but great pics for reference. On my phone or I would've provided a link.
They would have come with 1170 and 631 end links. This end link needs a slight adjustment to make it more snug to the case but photo makes it look worse than it actually is. This one I fitted with an alternate all black bezel but I do have the original which is in fantastic condition.
I emailed the seller a few days back but didn't hear anything.. i've since found one in Holland, not quite as nice but cheaper.
I was away on vacation and finally got back to @smitty190373 a couple of days ago. The Poppy is still FS with a new bump. Thank you @Tubber for the kind words, I do agree best example I've seen FS well.
I have to say, I do like the look of these, but I suppose i would want to see it on my wrist to get a real perspective..
