    HI

I am considering this Omega SM300 but it haves a "small" problem with the minute hand... i can live with the current conditioning but will it get worse over time?

And do you see any other problems with the watch? It should be all original :)

    hey

you surely mean the hours hand ?
it's a bit of guessing, nothing can happen or it could loose more and more lume, i would simply search for a complete set of hands cuz also the patina of the seconds hand doesn't fit the others ....

    cheers

Something definitively strange with the dial. The lume markers seem to be way off, and not aligned as they should in the middle between the minutes.

Also the numbers on the dial should have a serifs type font on them, as only one early model is “straight” and all following are different versions of a serif style. The triangle on the dial should also have straight corners, not rounded like you have.

A picture of the caseback and movement would also be needed to provide additional info and assessment. (I’m no expert in the 300’s but these differences I spotted)

    so far yes

to judge the dial inconsitencies it would be best to have a full front shot with no angle

Thanks ! Don’t have a shot of the dial and don’t think it is possible to get it, so if I go for it I will have to take my chances...

Ok. So then I was wrong. I was only following this “dial guide” from the forum. In this guide there is only one version with a font (A) similar, but it is skinnier than the one on the watch above. On this watch the numbers are much thicker. Is there something missing in this guide, a version with thicker fonts? Just trying to learn all there is about the wonders of identifying a genuine item. :)

The lume on the hand can be repaired and “matched” to the rest. My older seamaster had a similar issue and my watchmaker was able to do a pretty good match job.

As much as I like to keep everything original if you wear the watch I would repaint/repair the hand lume. if broken into the movement in can damage it (happened to me ). My2C

The watch just had a full service, so no missing parts in the movement, but thanks for the heads up!
