Nice work!

While we're on the subject: Is it possible to polish up the plastic(?) surface of the bezel with a Polywatch?

Yes- be sure not to mess up the shape/flatness!

Got this bezel from a collector who wanted a more correct insert for his 165.024 -64

Made a layout and etched a forming tool.

Made some blanks from 1.25mm acrylic.

Now waiting for the paint to dry to fint out if the imprints are good enough..........

I have been doing ALOT of tests making these inserts!
I think I have made abt 10 different "stamps" to make imprints on acrylic blanks - here is one made from brass.

A piece of acrylic is then clamped, heated and finaly pressed to get imprints from the numbers/indexes.

The back is tuched up a bit with a flat stone and some sandpapper.

It´s then set up in a jig and milled to final dimensions.

After beeing milled, the inserts are cleaned and the numbers/indexes are filled with a mixture of paint and lume powder.

Then it´s time to print the minute markers

Same here, I think I made 10 plates before I was pleased!

Here is a batch of test inserts after beeing printed.

After the markers are printed, the back gets a protective layer of lacquer so the final layer of black paint does not mix with the paint in the numbers.

A bit of touch up and they are done.

And here is a milled version..
The edges get a radius of 50um from the endmill but the back is very sharp.
Personally I like this version more, but the stamped ones are more true to the original.
