Hello

I bought this Omega from the grandson of the first owner.
His grandfather told him he bought this watch with dial looking like that, but i don't believe that. Unless these dials did patina really really fast?

I'm interested to know, which color could this dial have been originally? And why is there a "black" inner circle, isn't that weird?

Kind regards
Robert

It would likely have been blue originally as blue dials from this period can deteriorate significantly.

It could also have been grey.

The black circle is likely due to hand drag.

Hand drag, didn't think about that of that at all, but kind of makes sense. Thanks!

Dials for this came in silver, gold tone, black, green, and blue from what I can see. The blue dial did not have "automatic" on it, so I don;t think it was blue originally. Of the options I see, most likely black.

All the blue dial versions I come across have "automatic" under Omega. Or am I missing something?

The result today is interesting IMHO ... worth an overhaul ..
Got an overhaul earlier this year. So I'm ready to rock this one 🤌

Th example that Omega currently shows does not. There may be other variations...that's why I said "from what I can see"...
