Hi,
This belonged to my grandfather and has been sitting in the cupboard ever since he last wore it. Wanted to know if it's real or a fake.
Is there any benefit in maintaining it or do i just keep it as a sentimental value?

P.S.: I remember, him mentioning that it had been repaired a couple of times by some local repair guy.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome here!

The watch had a lot of work carried out with.

A long time ago it maybe looked like that:

or like that:

The hands and the crown have been transfered from other watches and the dial has been repainted.

The date window frame is missing.

Its not 'fake' but its not original anymore

If you don't intend to wear it I would keep it for sentimental reasons and wouldn't carry out a service
