How accurate should an automatic movement be?
I have adjusted the timekeeping to minus15 seconds per day, should I leave it at that or can these older movements be more accurate?
Regards

Has it been service recently or just regulated?

Complete service in August but losing 30 secs a day. So I regulated to present accuracy.
Will this be what I should expect?
Thanks.

If it was only serviced back in August then something isn't right. Take it up with your watchmaker.

So since the service you have opened the watch and regulated it? If so, this would void the watchmaker's warranty. You should always contact the watchmaker before you do anything - before you open it or have anyone else look at it.

Having said that, losing 30 seco9nds per day is certainly not an acceptable result for one of these. These are typically quite decent timekeepers.

I know the watchmaker very well and my regulation is not a problem to him.
Due to his poor health recently, I try not to bother him with too much.
I'll just see how things go for a few days.
Thanks to all for comments, tdn-dk gives me an idea of what accuracy I am looking for.
Regards.

You have a very understanding watchmaker - very few would take this approach...

Yes a nice man, back in the day, we both worked for the same Omega retailer.
Thanks.
