I'm curious who's come across references to Omega watches in unexpected places. For instance I was recently doing some historical research on a property in the Port of Oakland (California) and came across this helpful brochure about how much money you can save by using Oakland's (then new) containerized shipping facilities: The brochure is undated, but I figured from the square end chrono hand and the DON bezel (hard to see in this photo) that it this is a 145.012 or early 145.022, so 1967-1969 (right?) I never thought watch nerdery would help me date a port brochure, but there you are! I think it's a nice example of how the Speedmaster was iconic for timekeeping, even back in the 1960s. Anyone else got examples of Omegas in unexpected places?
Based on the non step and shorter index looks like a mid 70’s to 80’s brochure. The text would make me thing late 70’s early 80’s.
You are assuming that the brochure was printed when the watch was just new. Suppose the subject watch was 20 years old when the brochure was printed! I think I would be looking for details regarding date of publishing to be printed inside the flyleaf.
