Hello all. I have had an old Omega sitting in a draw for a long time. It was given to me years ago and I know very little about it. I’m hoping to discover the age and any other details about it please. Inside the movement has 5336010 on it and the case was made by Dennison?

Thank you in advance of any replies.

    Jon

Nice watch with a ‘swing ring’ case. Do you have pictures of the caliber? it could be either a 12 or 13 lignes, a 23.7 or a rarer 27.9, all of them were cased in this model. Serial number of the caliber dates it between 1915 and 1923, approximatively around 1917-18.
Would be able to say more with a picture of the movement.

Nice NN caliber! Based on what said Tire-Comedon, I guess it is a 27,9. What is the size of the movement?

What do you mean by ‘size of movement’. Is it the diameter of the watch? Thanks!

I mean the exact diameter of the movement alone. These old calibers were generally (partly) named after their size. For instance, cal. 12'' and 13'' mean 19'' like calibers of 12 or 13 "lignes" (a French like equals 2,256 cm).

OK, I’ll take a look. It does appear to have 27.9 S BN marked inside. Thanks again for the response.

Does a watch like this have much value?

Just to avoid some confusion, if you are expressing lignes it would be done as follows: 12''' or 13'''

    12'' would be 12 inches.

    Cheers, Al

You are right, thanks! That is how Omega named calibers (12''' and so on) on old docs.

Have I posted this in the right place to get a rough valuation? I would also appreciate advice on where to sell. Thanks.
