Hello all,

I have an old watch that i picked up about 15 years ago from an uncle who had passed away. It seems to be an old seamaster de ville from what i found on google.. it was a present from the compagny (cominco) he worked for and retired in 1968. I assume it either a 67 or 68 ..who knows? Anyway to find specs? Is it made of gold ? Looks like something else..stainless maybe ? What would be the value of it ? I do not plan to sell it but very curious about it. I have heard that if you open the back , there would be some identification or a serial number..but i'm not sure how to open it and don't want to damage anything.

The best idea is to bring it to watchmaker and have the case back opened in order to determine the serial number. Apart from that, the watch you have seems to be a rather common model from the 60s /70s era. Most likely the comico logo has been printed onto the dial afterwards…I would not expect too much out of it in terms of collectors / monetary value.

Gold-filled case. Value probably in the $200-$300 range, IMO.
